"Sadly the ramen and noodles weren't being served but we were given a deal on small plates so we had a nice variety to choose from. The duck fries were packed and the Tenders had a delicious spice to the batter. The small plates came as they were ready instead of together, in a Wagamama style, which we enjoyed."

"Situated opposite the Empire Theatre it is very handy to have a meal before seeing a show. Lovely and cosy inside the staff are friendly and helpful and if you have not had Japanese food before, they explain about the menu and types of food. We chose black garlic pork ramen, fried chicken poke bowl, belly pork bao buns and chicken gyozas.The food was very tasty with a spicy kick to them and surprisingly filling. The two lads that were serving ( Mattie and Liam?) were great.Will definitely be visiting there again and would recommend Koji if you're in the area."

"Absolutely amazing food and cocktails. Personally love the koji slipper cocktail. Veggie options are vast and so tasty. Highly recommend the spicy cucumber salad side. Favourite spot to go for all occasions. Staff are so friendly and enthusiastic."

"Considering the new hype of the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised with how well we were served. We had to wait a little time for our ramen but that was not an issue at all as our light snacks were brought out within 5 mins of ordering. The ramen tasted amazing. The only criticism I could possibly give is that there were a slight lack of toppings on the ramen but each place is different. A pleasant addition to the food scene in Sunderland!"

"Tried Chicken Gyoza, Spicy Chicken Ramen, and Kimchi. Overall it was a good experience. The food isn’t quite authentic but not bad by any means. The gyoza and the ramen were a bit saltier than I prefer but maybe that’s just my palate. The setting is nice, staff are friendly and service was prompt. It’s worth a try."

The 2-for-1 ramen deal every Tuesday is unbeatable and such a great excuse to treat yourself or go with a friend. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. You can tell they really care about the food and the customer experience. Highly recommend Koji to any ramen lover – it’s a gem!"
